In DC, 2 hotdogs with your choice of condiments (including chili, cheese, cooked onions, relish, catsup, mustard, diced raw onions), a 1oz bag of chips and a can of soda will run $2.50-$3.50 from a cart depending on location. The tourists who hit the carts near the National Mall, the same meal runs them about $6 – DC residents rarely buy a hotdog on the Mall. So, $2 profit from a hotdog would be high. Even on the Mall, a hotdog will only cost $2.
