The "Mart" was a weekly destination before we moved and the kids were younger. First stop was always the pretzel shop then a clockwise walk around with the kids exploring almost every "stall", multipul small purchases with the final being pizza by the autoparts shop. The Italian Deli was a good place for large inexpensive hoagies and was one of the few places open when the rest of the mart was closed. Three years ago we were in so.jersey for a family reunion and the "Mart" was a MUST stop, the pretzel shop was unfortunately closed for vacation and perhaps it was a little dingier than I remembered and the kids significant others couldn’t see the attraction but it was still entertaining. My first job 30+ years ago was at the "mart" and the rumours about its eminate demise were rife even then.
