I grew up stealing sips of Koehler (Erie Brewing Co. — "Pour a Koehler collar") out of my dad’s bottles. Yick. I would never touch that stuff as an adult! LOL
Egad, Top Hat. $3.99 a case. Must be why I drank a lot of that swill in college!
My college roommate’s mom drank Wiedemann. We used to call it "Eagle Piss."
The beer trucks at our campus parties always served Hudy — the only way to drink that stuff is if a) it’s cold and from the tap, and 2) if you’re already drunk! I did like Hudepohl Gold, though. The City View in Cincinnati kept it on tap. Went great with the barbecue sandwiches there.
I worked in two former brewery buildings in Cincinnati — an old Hudepohl plant on E. McMicken (most recently home to Nu-Blend Paints, but I think they went under), and the old Burger brewery on W. Liberty (now Cincinnati Ballet). The old Hudy building had a gorgeous mosaic on the entry floor.
