Just a quick add – on to the above. Prohibition was from 1919 until 1932. Granddad always claimed Buckeye survived those years by selling "near-beer". I always thought that was an awful long time to just be selling near-beer. Maybe it was true. Does anyone with a better knowledge of regional beers have any idea how other breweries made it thru prohibition?
