The photo depicts Ballantine’s Ale, not the India Pale Ale. Ballantine’s IPA was originally brewed, if memory serves me, somewhere in New Jersey. In the late 70’s or early 80’s, production moved to a plant in Ft. Wayne, In. It was never the same. Originally brewed at a very high level of alcohol,quite bitter, and aged in oak casks, production costs caused its demise. For its time, it was an astonishing brew.
