Peil’s was a Brooklyn-based brand — we all knew and loved Bert and Harry Piel.

A big Philly brand was Schmidt’s (A sponsor of Phillies broadcasts: By Saam proclaiming, "Schmidt’s of Philadelphia — One beautiful beer!") The guy next door always had two cases delivered (back then!) each week, in the long-neck returnables in a fold-top reuseable cardboard case.
