All right now I’m confused. Thanks for the correction as I do remember 12 Horse Ale, but since I thought I remembered Black Horse Ale as well I did a search and this page:

talks about Black Horse Ale winning a silver in some American category. Was there a regional american Black Horse Ale around in New England/New York when I was a lad in the 60s?
