I as well drank a great deal of Carling Black Label in my yoot. Before the bottle bill in MA, it came in returnable 16-oz bottles. I remember I could cart a case home about a mile back in my Worcester days. I can barely carry the groceries up the stairs now, sigh.

We also enjoyed Narragansett because it came with rebus tops which we enjoyed immensely, and also came in milk crate type half cases to facilitate in returning.

Lastly, the Dutch Tavern in New London, CT served Narragansett Dark in pitchers for something like 2.25. We used to drive home after many too many of those pitchers, without a second thought. Swweet bird of youth and all that, but very scary to contemplate now.
