We spent the weekend in Raleigh and went to the Farmer’s Market main restaurant (not the carryout seafood place)–a return visit from November–and it was marvelous, as usual. This place is only open until 3 every day, serving both breakfast and lunch during that time, and has a revolving, handwritten menu of specials as well as a pretty comprehensive fixed menu, and it’s wonderful.
Also tried out Finch’s Restaurant one morning for a late breakfast, and it was terrific. Served two of us breakfast and one lunch (a cheeseburger club sandwich with yummy crispy fries) and didn’t blink an eye. This place looks like hell from the road–a run down drive-in–so you’d probably think it was closed if you didn’t know better. Give it a try.
