sorry sonny, but i have tried russets, and i have determined that they are terrible for anything, exept good hog food… i only use idaho. i began with russets, years ago, but they would have more black hearts per case, than an entire year supply of idaho. plus, they have way too much starch, making more work than necessary. idaho’s are perfect, no soaking required.
didnt take me long to change.
