When this thread started, I was living in DC. Now I’m in Anne Arundel County, and boy, pretzel sandwiches are very popular in Baltimore establishments and Chesapeake bay shacks.
So, to comment on some old things: I went to Howard House in Elkton, MD, since the earlier posts (8 years ago), and what they had was definitely unique and delish! Had not had the pan fried like that. Not that it matters, because since then – the Howard House closed it’s doors. Bummer.
Crab dip wth mostly crab meat and pretzel, whether on top, or inside – or as a dip with pretzel nuggets. Everyone around here has their own take – and it’s all good!
I thought Pittsburgh loved its pretzel, but Baltimore is right up there!
