It depends, you really can’t consider the cooking independently of the dog. At home I boil Hummel’s beef and put them on a Martin’s Potato long roll (not toasted) with Pace medium salsa. Mmmmmm! When I have dogs out I have found that a boiled dog is less likely to be appealing – they have to use really good dogs if they boil them. In general if the place serves good dogs it is because they have worked out what works for the dogs they serve – which generally works for me too.
