I used to love Po Folks, their to go chicken dinners, complete with Sweet Tea, were a staple of Saturday night dining in my family throughout the 80s & early 90s.
Towards the end of Po Folks’ run in St. Louis, they got rid of many of my favorite things about the resturant. They got rid of all the vintage stuff off the walls, and they stopped serving Nehi & RC from bottles in barrels at the front of the store.
Po Folks was like Cracker Barrel, but they had much better food. You can’t even get fried chicken at a Cracker Barrel…They still have a website at Pofolks.com, which lists their few remaining resturants, which are mostly in Florida. I plan on going to Tampa next month, so I will be sure to hit the one in St. Pete on my visit.
