I will say that we used to hit the PO FOLKS in Clarksville, IN for work-day lunches fairly often. The Gumbo was very good. The Whole Catfish were outstanding, The Fish Sandwiches were also very good, once you scraped off about half of the tartar sauce they put on it.
It is sort of like comparing Apples and Oranges, due to the number of years between the two developing chains, But in my opinion PO FOLKS was a pretty good choice most of the time, while Cracker Barrel is disappointing more often than not.
I grew up in SoCal, but spent a number of years in "The East", including 6 in Ocean County N J . Then back to SoCal for 15 years, and now in Indiana (Louisville area). There are times when I miss my SoCal Desert homeland a lot and I look at the scenery everytime I can….but I love our home in Indiana and would not return to SoCal to "Live" again. Different choices for different folks, thats for sure.
