What do business pay to offer WiFi? Or, … ARE you trying to spam a new service?
Most business already have an Internet connection, either cable or DSL. And, usually a WiFi is included with the ISP modem. If not, a wireless router (WiFi) can be purchased for about $40. The additional cost to offer WiFi for these business is $0 and the cost of the wireless router if they have to buy one.
Mobile vendors would need an unlimited wireless data connection to offer their customers WiFi. Most wireless ISP’s have data and speed limitations. I don’t see offering WiFi in this case as being cost effective.
I do think offering free WiFi is a great service for the traveling public and business men away from their regular connections and would be a great way to attract customers. … But the problem is the occasional customer that sits for 2 or 3 hours, drinking only 2 or 3 cups of coffee. Can you afford losing a table for that long? How should this be handled?
