I was in Viet Nam about 8 years ago. What I remember the most is the fantastic french bread! I think the story I heard is that since Viet Nam was occupied by the French they learned a lot of French baking.
There were some fruits that I had there that were delicious. I remember Dragon fruit. There was something that was really different to me. It was a fruit inside a hard pod of some sort. You sucked out the soft fruit,like a peeled grape with a hard pit in the middle. I wish I could remember it’s name.
My husband found an Italian restaurant and had carbonara. That was in Hanoi.
