JackStack’s is not in the building that Houston’s occupied at 95th and Metcalf. That building was a Bennigan’s. The building that Houston’s was in, wais next door and closer to 95th Street. It is now a Red Robin.

I lived within walking distance of them from the beginning of 1985 until the end of 1989.

Dave, Of all the places mentioned here, I think that the Stone Wall is closest to what I sensed you were looking for in your original post. It isn’t my favorite, but if you go to only one of the ones I mentioned, try that one. It is also a good spot for cocktails.
