I recently bought a jar of Ovaltine Classic because I forgot what it tasted like. I didn’t like it in milk. I got brave and sprinkled a tablespoon over my hot cereal. It added a nice twist! Then I got braver and dropped a spoonful into the blender with frozen berries, a banana, and vanilla yogurt. Believe it or not, the flavor mixed well with the berries. Yesterday I ate a plain banana, dipping it into Ovaltine powder. But I still can’t stand Ovaltine the way it’s meant to used: in a glass of milk. Yuk. And for those who care, a tablespoon of Ovaltine only has 0.3 g fat and 30 calories. Sugar is the fifth ingredient listed, so it’s minimal. Ovaltine is one way brighten certain simple dishes.
