Most of these have been recommendations for the southern edge of the Banks…for some recommendations a little further north:
Colington Cafe – In Kill Devil Hills and has one of the best menus on the Outer Banks in my opinion. It’s a little more upscale (located in an old Victorian house), but has great food and a great wine list.
Tale of the Whale – While the food isn’t the GREATEST, it’s a long tradition on the Outer Banks and the views from the deck are unmatched. It’s located right on the causeway leading to Roanoke island and the entire restaurant is practically in the sound. Have a cool gazeboo ut back.
Mike Dianna’s Grill Room – If you’re ALL the way up in Corolla, this place is fantastic. Menu changes DAILY so they can offer what’s good and what’s fresh.
Hurricane Mo’s – Along the lines of Tale of the Whale, the food isn’t the GREATEST here, although they have some fun dishes/appetizers/drinks. But it’s located at the top of Pirate’s Cove Marina and can be fun to watch the boats come in with their catch.
