Interesting topic you began Paul… Truly enjoyed everyone’s post, I like people. I’ve held off, but here goes:
I, and wife, retired 9 years ago with dreams of doing things "OUR WAY", selfish so to speak. Started off in that direction. Coming from Chicago, we purchased a ranch in southern New Mexico which we enjoy. Built a herd of Tx. Longhorn show cattle. Hit the show circuit, won awards including a world championship. Today, I’ve evolved into the same driven person I’ve always been, for better or worse. Community service is an opportunity I can’t resist.
I have done and continue to be part of:
Carrizozo Chamber of Commerce….Two term President
Rotary Club… Two term President
Moderator for several local political debates
Board member, New Horizons(wonderful home for developmentally disabled adults)
Founding Chairman, Community Foundation of Lincoln County
American Legion, Post 11, Commander
Board member, Boy Scouts of America
Our 1800’s Chuckwagon is a rewarding hobby to care for and share with others.
Building furniture without hardware, much as Davydd described constructing his home
Exploring the backroads of our wonderful country
Studying American history, particularly the west during the 1800’s.
Life is good………..
