Sundancer is probably wondering what he wrought with this thread. OK, I will break the ice with my mere 3,000th post and answer Paul with my interest.
First off, I am a fairly recently retired architect. The past 19 years I had first helped birth the Mall of America and then went on to Target and helped create over 1,000 new Target stores. So if you hate big box and really, really big box retail, blame me. I can take it. [;)][:D]
My hobbies are boating on Lake Minnetonka, kayaking everywhere and traveling in our RV camper van. I also find time to read history books, especially Welsh, Colonial America and British history. I also prefer mysteries for light reading. I am an on again off again genealogist and have been so since 1982.
I like to think of myself as a backyard lumberjack. I have a Husqvarna chain saw and I recently bought a wood chipper. Our property is an acre and a half of dense woods backing up to an extensive marsh. My main quest is ridding the property of pesky buckthorn. Next year I hope to tap our sugar maples and make syrup. My latent home brewing equipment will help in that.
I designed and built our own heavy timber, mortise and tenon, wood pegged home. I cut every timber. It is my penchant to take on challenges. The house is now 24 years old and if you had been following in another Roadfood.com thread you will see we remodeled our kitchen already this past winter.
This summer I am going to re-tile the rest of the main floor, 630 square feet, with those imported Italian porcelain tiles. I’m pumped up to do it now.
I found Roadfood.com because I was consumed with pursuing the deep-fried breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. My Roadfood.com debut message can be found on page 3 of this 30 page message thread.
Somehow I have amassed these 3,000 messages. It has been helped along by my pizza and bread making pursuits.
The only way I could ever catch Paul is to start eating hotdogs with ketchup. [;)][:D]
Oh my gosh! I forgot. If you know me I like to post photos. I gotta have a photo in this message. How about this one? Our cat Callie wants to go fishing. We are fish sitting our neighbor’s gold fish this week.
