I used to see the headquarters of KFC when I did the by-pass around Louisville. It looked like a southern mansion. I was afraid that when they got big, the quality would be lost.

I did meet Colonel Sanders in 1964. He came to Knoxville when they opened a franchise. He was dressed in white with a bow tie. He looked elegant with his white attire.

Back then the food was excellent. He also showed up in a white limo.

Even today, some of the franchise groups get it right, however it is a bit of a gamble. I cannot testify because I cannot sample, I can relate because of others who are with me.
