Welcome to OC…I live in South OC and some of my picks are all around the county…but you’ll find a lot of good stuff!

Chicago Pizza…one of only 3 I know of in SoCal is in N OC…TOny’s Little Italy in Placentia. Believe it or not they have been around + years but just moved locations last fall. Stuffed crust pizza that matches the biggies in Chicago.

Hot Dogs…not much of a Hot Dog guy, but Chicago Harv’s in Fullerton is good. ALso, Mustard’s in Los Alamitos is repectable, although their italian beef isn’t that great.

Burgers…Ruby’s tops my list…for a chain it is superb. Flaky Jake’s in Anaheim near Disneyland used to be a regular lunch stop for me 10 years ago…good burgers and chicken sandwiches (similar to Fuddrucker’s). Of course there is also In-N-Out burger.

Other faves in OC…in your area Lou’s in HB has great tri-tip sandwiches and more, Sabatino’s in Newport Beach has the most amazing italian sausage you will ever eat, Tulsa Rib CO in Orange is the best ribs I’ve had in SoCal, Hans’ Ice Cream in Santa Ana near SCP has the best ice cream around, and my choice if I want a great steak but not a stuffy overpriced atmosphere is Trabuco Oaks in Trabuco Canyon (SE OC).

One thing that you will find is that you WILL drive to find great food here in SoCal!
