Thanks for taking up for teachers. I’m married to one – first a teacher, then he became the principal. Retired & is back to tutoring math. (Loves the stress-free situation he’s in now)
IMHO, No child left behind has forced schools to teach just what they suspect will be on the test, & after the mound of paperwork is done, there is little time for the basics. & who is coming up short? students.
Also, when I started to school it was the three R’s. Now, it’s computer classes from kindergarten on up. All the new technology has left little time for the basics. Just hope we don’t have a major power outage. There again, IMHO.
