I dont see this thread going anywhere positive, so let me say in closing simply that every generation for years has repeated the same tired " the younger generation is this, that, or the other ". It is nothing new, and in my opinion is brought on by a sense of fear brought on by lack of information.
I also feel it is foolish to assume that the nervous kid, possibly at his or her first job, CANT make change. I am sure most of them have both the education, and ability to do so, it just isnt something they have done with any regularity since grade school. But I guess if ridiculing them makes some feel better in some odd little way, well so be it. Sadly I realize there is nothing I can type that is going to change that.
Every invention, including those " newfangled" cash registers are going to make a certain set of skills obsolete eventually.I suppose when the tractor was first invented a bunch of old timers had a knee slapping good time chortling about how the " dumb kids dont even know how to work a field by hand ". I for one dont want to be a part of that group.
