Ben’s is a small chain, the original (I think) is Rego Park. I remember it as a kid 55 years ago. The best one at the time in that neighborhood was around the corner on 63rd Drive SW corners at Saunders St. My brother remembers the name, I don’t. Thankfully there are still some on Long Island. I used to plan my work day around lunch. The ones I recall are The Woodro in Hewlett, sadly Andel’s in Roslyn is closed great lox, Lido in Long Beach, Regal in Plainview, Pastrami n Friends Commack, Kensington in Great Neck, the cavernous King David in Lake Success is now a Bagel Boss. There used to be one on the LIE service road in Fresh Meadows perfect for grabbing a nosh on my way home. That one closed over 10 years ago.
