I hate this snowballing effect. I’d rather the FDA stepped up and said, "hey – we were wrong to approve this substance as food. We recind our approval. Synthetic trans fats are no longer fit for human consumption starting Jan 1, 2008." and then we’d be done with it from grocer to restaurant, instead of this very costly slow phase out.
It disturbs me to no end that a restaurant is not allowed to use an ingredient we can all buy in a grocery store.
