I recently heard that lionfish are causing problems in the Gulf and that there’s no limit to the catch or in sports fishermen selling them to restaurants. Apparently they are good eating, and Chef Tenney Flynn of GW Fins restaurant, who is an avid diver, is catching them himself and offering them on his menu with the description “shot by chef” It’s scary, with it’s poisonous fins, seems like you’d really need to be careful in handling them.
