As much as I love mayo I’m not sure about it on beans.  I’ll have to try it.  As a kid we always had a green salad with dinner but sometimes my Mother would make kidney bean salad.  It was 1 can of beans, rinsed, S&P, red onion, oil and wine vinegar.
