Like the name of my favorite rhythm & blues record arranger, Wardell Quezergue (also from New Orleans), no two people have an identical way of pronouncing Uglesich’s name. As close as I can come, within 75% accuracy, is <<you.GLESS.ick’s>>. (Please, won’t someone tell me how close I came….)
There are a fair number of indigenous Slavs in Southeastern Louisiana, by the way… another fascinating bit of trivia about America’s debatably most fascinating city.
