I didn’t think any food groups disappeared when you crossed the Mississippi, but I was looking for some dishes I didn’t realize had midwest origins or ones I should be made aware of other than meat pies. I’ve gone west all the way to the coast. Just didn’t stop in the Dakotas on the way.
