I like the New England seafood idea as well. However as I was considering the regional aspect of your assignment I realized that most in your class will probably focus on the continental US which got me thinking about HAWAII! It is the US and it’s regional influences are quite distinct and will probably be overlooked by most in your class allowing you to stand out from the group. You can still do seafood but with a more polynesian flair – tuna and wahoo instantly come to mind as well as traditional foods such as lau lau, poi and US influenced dishes like spam musabi. It will also be more of a challenge and a learning experience for you (I think) which is what school is all about.
