Oh, I get it about the nuts.  I can’t stand them in Ice Cream (except Pralines & Cream, or some variation).  I was responding to your comment about pomegranate seeds being superfluous.  They actually add an extra flavor element and texture in the dish.  Also, as noted above, they provide a very pleasing visual note.  And, as they say, “You eat with your eyes first.”
