It depends on what you like. I want potato pancakes with my fish fry, so while I live only 20 blocks from Serb Hall, it’s not a place I go to. It’s location wouldn’t be an outrageous distance away, but you should be able to find something closer and possibly better. Although housed in a hotel, I’ve had a friend tell that they enjoyed the fish fry at Maxwell’s 1005 S. Moorland Road Brookfield, WI 53005 Phone: (262) 786-9540 which is adjacent to New Berlin. I’ll try to call them later today and see if they serve fish at lunch. Fwiw, I love Maders and suspect you’ll really enjoy your dinner there. We’ll be there this Friday evening for their Oktoberfest block party.

OK, I got a hold of Maxwells which is in the Best Western and they only do a lunch buffet. Fridays it includes fried fish and a baked fish but you should be able to find a made to order place.
It’s been years but this place rocked when I ate there in the past. They do have a Friday luncheon fish fry and it’s close to New Berlin-Venice Club-1905 N. Calhoun Rd.-Brookfield, WI 53005-Phone: (262) 786-8323 I see they do Lake Perch and potato pancakes even though its primarily an Italian restaurant.
