The line for the Time zone passes east of Owensboro…so Owensboro, Evansville, and Nashville are all on Central Standard time right now.
The line twists and turns a bit so that it crosses I-65 between Elizabethtown and Bowling Green KY…so Bowling Green is on Central time and E-town is on Eastern. Louisville and its suburbs are on EASTERN TIME.
As a Hoosier you understand what that has meant in the past when Indiana did’n’t switch to Daylite time (our counties changed with Louisville)….but according to what I read that will not happen this Spring. BUT as of now we here in Louisville’s Indiana suburbs don’t know if we will switch or not… No answer has been given yet to what and when to Switch.
But that is not an issue for our meeting. We (you and I) are on Eastern Time. Owensboro Isn’t! That seems to shorten the trip (on the clock) for me to get to the Moonlite..but makes the trip home very long !!
As a transplant from the west I find the "dos-e-doe" around the Fast-time/Slow-time thing interesting at the change times each year.
