Be carefull when buying San Marzano tomatos. There a many brands out there that claim to be the real thing, but. They may be canned tomatos from the San Marzano seed but not grown in that region. The real product will have a symbol of Certificazione Agroalimentare, Denomonazione D’origine Protetta with a reg number.
I just hate it when someone is paying top dollar for a misrepresented product, and I’m sure the growers and packers of that area aren’t happy either. Chow Jim
