For eats I’d recommend:
Lotus of Siam for the best thai I’ve ever eaten. IT has also been called the (or, possibly) best thai in the U.S. by Gourmet magazine. In a dingy strip mall right off the Strip, take a cab if need be. You’ll find an impressively large menu all prepared deliously. At a prise what will not hurt your cash avilable to play at the casinos very much.
For steak for value go to The Steakhouse at Circus Circus. It is an old fashioned classy steak joint within a beat up Casino hotel.
The meat steak and chops and great and the price more than fair. When compared to pricer steak places on the Strip, it’s a no brainer.
If you order the black bean soup ask for the sherry and chopped unions.
We asked our server if the beef stake tomatoes were tasty or like supermarket types and was told they were good. Upon tasting them we disagreed and had no problem returning the dish w/o a charge to the bill. The steak are terrific and for those who like them the lamb chops are it.
As for sights, if you have a car go to:
Valley of Fire State Park, and/or,
Rhyolite, a real ghost town near Beatty and Death Valley. Beatty has a place you can soak in a hot tub, as well as a functioning whore house.
