We loved Popeye’s. I had the combo – lamb and chicken, both from the skewers, roasted over hot coals outside the restaurant. Definitely a memorable meal. The food at the Grand Geneva is also excellent. My wife and I left the kids at a kids’ "Mexican Fiesta Night" sponsored by the hotel and the two of us dined at the Italian-themed restaurant. Every dish was delicious.
Another meal on the trip was memorable for the wrong reasons – lunch at the Olympian Cafe on Main Street. From the outside, it looks like a quaint, old-fashioned diner, so we gave it a try. The only thing worse than the food was the service. My tuna sandwich was wet and sloppy and had way too much mayo. My two boys ordered pizza, and it looked like a candidate for the "worst pizza ever" thread on this site. Someone had poured ketchup over cheese Whiz, and toasted it on white bread (at least that’s what it looked like). My seven year old, usually undiscriminating when it comes to pizza, pushed his around on the plate for five minutes and then turned to me and said, "Daddy, this is inedible." I decided to take his word for it.
