Good choice, Paul. The perch were local and fresh, as you saw. The walleye were likely from Canada.(not that there’s anything wrong with that…) Wild walleye from US waters isn’t commercially available. When I’m in that area, fresh perch is my first choice. They make a first-rate sandwich. Did you get a chance to try some sauerkraut balls? Local "delicacy" that I tried a couple of years ago.
The walleye available in Ohio does come from the Canadian side of Lake Erie. Commercial fishing for walleye in Ohio waters waters of Erie has been banned since the 1980s.
