Paul,I think you did the right thing by ordering the Perch which is more of a Lake Erie thing anyway. Walleye is basically more well known in northern waters, hence its popularity in Minnesota
Gee, and I wonder why the Western Basin of Lake Erie (the Port Clinton area) is known as the Walleye Capitol of the World.Know it all!! [:(!][;)]
You have to understand, a former poster who no longer posts here indicated that I can only handle things that are in finite categories
[}:)][}:)]Seriously, I just haven’t seen Walleye on many menus when I’m in the vicinity of Lake Erie, besides I can never turn down a plate of Lake Erie Perch.
The reason you’ve not seen walleye on the menu at most places around Ohio is because they list them as pickerel. They do that because that’s what walleyes are called in Ontario, and all the walleye sold in Ohio comes from the Canadian waters of Lake Erie.
Ah hah! [:0]
I have seen Pickerel on the menu at many places, I never ordered it because I wasn’t sure what it was.
