I would recommend Old Hickory BBQ in Owensboro, rather than Moonlite. No buffet, better bbq. In Bowling Green, look for Mariah’s on State St. True roadfood. In Scottsboro, AL, try the Blue Willow Inn (not to be confused with the one in Social Circle GA) for some authentic southern cooking and antiquing. Just north of Guntersville is a small diner called Bruce’s that’s pretty good. On the road north between Manchester and Nashville, stop off at the Bell Buckle Cafe in Bell Buckle TN for some down home cooking.
