Does anyone have a good recipe for a Kringle? It doesn’t matter what kind of kringle–that can be adjusted, I think. My preference would be marzipan, but my daughter is allergic to nuts, so … fruit is probably better. I’d really like to try to make one this year for Christmas. And I’m hoping that some of those good posters from Wisconsin who might know who to make this will be willing to share it here. [:)]Thanks in advance
Tarragon – I wish I had seen your request sooner. My wife just made a pair of kringle using this pastry recipe from O&H Danish Bakery (her first try at kringle). She was going to make them for Christmas, but did not get started in time. The recipe is a multi-day affair, but well worth the effort.
The one on the left is filled with her raspberry-strawberry jam and sliced almonds. The other is a turtle – chocolate, caramel & pecan filling. These are the best kringle I have ever eaten. Although, I’ve never had the chance to try kringle still warm at the bakery.
