I have one of those cheap salad slicers. It has about three differert blades. One thick slices, one thin slices and one just slices. Works real good and you are suppose to use the device that holds the onions, tomatoes, etc to keep from slicing your finger. Initially I avoided using this device cause I couold not get a good grip on the object. I was making great time and I was trying to utilize as much of the veggie as I could. I cut it too close and took on about a 1/16" of my finger. You would not think that the end cut off your finger would bleed very much or hurt very much. I pressure bandaged the finger. It was a solid week before I could button a shirt or use the digit.
