Tip 1. Claudia Sanders Dinner House is closed on Mondays. When you do go, Request the Main Dining Room if it is open, we love the ambience of the place. My menu item of choice is the Chicken Livers dinner…Janet goes for the wonderful family style veggies…Don’t skip the Stewed Tomatoes !
Tip 2. If going to Lynns Paradise Cafe, try an ‘off-hour’. The place gets real busy for breakfast and lunch, especially on weekend. The crowd at the restaurant isn’t a major issue, but the parking in the area can be very difficult. Go early or late for easier access.
Tip 3. Add Huber’s Family Farm Restaurant to your selections for family style Chicken Dinners. Hubers is located about 30 min. out of Louisville on the Indiana side of the river (in Starlight,IN). The restaurant reminds me of what KNOTTs Berry Farm was back before the amusement park dominated the scene in Buena Park, CA. We like to take visitors there as it has a real mellow ‘rural’ outlook. The fried biscuits and Local Apple Butter are a great addition to a good dinner.
Tip 4. Since you will be heading for Henderson for the Bon Ton Chicken, make a stop (or two) in Owensboro, KY for some Mutton BBQ. We like the Moonlite BBQ, but others here have suggested other locations that would be fine also.
