We had great pan fied chicken at "Opal’s Kitchen" in Kansas City last night. This place is just a few blocks from Crown Center, 2 blocks from Hereford House. IMHO, it is at least as good as Stroud’s, and it sure is a lot closer to the action. And it is a true "Roadfood" place.

HUGE portions (3 breasts) with a big bowl of creamy mashed ‘taters, one filled with green beans, one of tasty chicken gravy, and sweet corn bread. We will be eating from the leftover boxes for a couple of lunches.

We didn’t have room to try the enticing hot cobbler that looked so good passing by to other diners.
