I used to teach interviewing skills and you’d be amazed at the questions that have been asked by interviewers. The best answer is to defuse them by re-directing the offensive or even, illegal questions back to the topic somehow.
On the other hand, anyone who asks off the wall questions – you need to ask yourself do you want to work for them in the first place.
