I got my first Jersey tomatoes at the farmers’ market on Saturday. The first thing I did was cut up two of them, sprinkle with a teaspoon of dark brown sugar, some kosher salt, stir them up and gobble them down. Then I made just what I described above on Saturday night, along with some french fried eggplant. I put little squares of bacon and onion on the mushroom kabobs.
