Metaphysical, or philosophical, query of the day. I was pondering the Roadfood tagline, "Great regional meals along highways, in small towns and in city neighborhoods" and whether restaurants like Fifth Floor and Gary Danko qualified. I suppose it’s fine to be inclusive. Four star restaurants can be considered roadfood for the rich perhaps? Do others think ritzy restaurants are afield of the original intent and spirit?
No, they aren’t roadfood but you asked for recommendations. You are entitled to do that here, I think, and to expect a response. In fact, since we now have a section for chains, which also aren’t "great regional meals" maybe we also need a section for upscale dining. It’s fun to talk about too.
PS: To get back to the early part of this thread, not much "regional" about the Italo-American fare at Cafe Sport either. Regardless of the quality, that type of food is available coast to coast.
