Not to digress too far, I actually stopped subscribing to the Chron. I now read it pretty much exclusively online (for free as of now and hopefully in the future) as a way to keep up with hometown events (i.e. scandal) while I’m in AZ. I do keep getting solicitations to subscribe to YOUR hometown paper, the Mercury-News, but when I’m back in SF my preference now is for the free Examiner. It’s actually quite a good paper (or was last summer–it’s evolving).
