I have neve understood the infatuation with Mac & Cheese. Other than that and in order of comfort:
Sunny-side up fried eggs, fried bacon AND country ham, cheese grits, whole wheat toast.
County Fried (not Chicken Fried) Steak, mashed ‘taters, fresh turnip greens/collards, buttermilk biscuits, country-style cream gravy.
Fried Mullet/Bream/Catfish sides, cole slaw, swamp gravy, hushpuppies.
Meat Loaf, mashed ‘taters, Italian style green beans, creamed corn, corn pone.
Beef filet or marinated flank steak, loaded baked potato, salad, garlic bread.
Dessert always would be home-made peach ice cream with sweetened condensed milk as a topping.
